Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1735-1745.

Cherry tall-case clock. The hood has a molded broken-scroll pediment with free-standing turned columns at the front corners, turned columns at the rear corners, and a glazed door with a square opening. Waist with stepped molding at the top, chamfered front corners, and a rectangular case door. Base with stepped molding at the top, chamfered front corners, a base panel, and supported on turned feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and applied cast ornament in the spandrels. Inside the chapter ring there is a calendar aperture and an applied name plaque engraved "John Wood Philadelphia." There is an engraved motif between each hour gradation, and engraved motifs outside the hour ring. Thirty hour movement.
